Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Corithian Baptist Church, 104 South 10th Street with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Roy Manning will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Bennie B. Wade our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend went home to be with the Lord at the age of 92 years on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 3:00 a.m. at his residence after a lengthy illness. Bennie B. Wade the oldest of 14 children was born January 5, 1920 in Chula, Mississippi to Dave and Mary Murff Wade.
Bennie married the love of his life, Oretha Thomas Wade on January 3, 1976 in Saginaw, MI. They were married for 36 years. Bennie retired from Grey Iron Foundry-GM in 1985 after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 668. He was a member of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board until his health failed.
Bennie leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Oretha Wade; one son, John R. (Lela M.) Wade of Saginaw, MI; six brothers, Henry, Roy, Sam, Fess, Wilbert Wade of St. Louis, MO and David Wade of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends, Willie Allen, Willie Hampton and Professor Joseph Oforidankwa and family.
Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Mary Murff Wade; two brothers, Earnest and Lou Vell Wade; seven sisters, Emma, Mary Lee, Julia Mae, Dorthy, Cornelius, Lula Katie and Lilly Mae.
