Mary Sargent, 84, of Alma, Arkansas, died July 3, 2009 in her home. She was born June 23, 1925 in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Alma, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a volunteer and a lifetime member of the Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Sargent, of the home; two daughters, Pat Satterfield and her husband, Clovis of Alma, AR and Judy Taylor and her husband, Jim of Rogers, AR; two sons, Harold Sargent and his wife Carol of Springdale, AR and Butch Sargent and his wife, Judy of Alma, AR; one sister, Gladys Baker of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Eugene Gordon of Van Buren, AR and Jay Gordon of Chester, AR; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 6, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Alma with burial at Sarah Grove Cemetery in Figure Five Community under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Gina Hampton, Mary Ann Adams, Justin Sargent, Kim Longmate, Bobye Holt, Kyle Satterfield, Andi Love, Kaci Sargent, and Will Sargent.
Honorary pallbearers will be George and Maxine Willmuth, Dick and Della Douglas, Dr. Bart Sills, Sue Mason, and Floyd and Etta Penson.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Edwards Van-Alma Chapel, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
