Melba Rogers, 89, of Cedarville, Arkansas, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Fort Smith. She was born April 19, 1920 in Short, Oklahoma. She was a retired cosmetologist for the Boston Store in Fort Smith and a homemaker. She had been a member and a Sabbath school secretary at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Rogers.
She is survived by one daughter, Gretchen Dobbs and her husband Doug of Vian, OK; 6 grandchildren, Keith Dobbs of Asheville, NC, Scot Dobbs of Vian, OK, Shannon Pack of Vian, OK, Ginger Johnson of Stillwater, OK, Heather Quintana of Boonsboro, MD, and Cinnamon Pettijohn of Takoma Park, MD; 8 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as a number of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 15, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Uniontown under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
