Marjorie Stewart Dixon went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 12, 2010. She was born on March 19, 1923 in Albia, Iowa to Jesse and Ruth Bardin Stewart. She was the widow of Bill Dixon, retired Army, and a native of Fayetteville and former Texaco employee. Marjorie was a stenographer for the Federal Bureau of Investigation during the 1940’s. After her marriage to Bill they lived in Manhattan until his retirement whereupon they made their home in Fort Smith. She had a true zest for living and enjoyed painting, classical music and opera, and was a talented seamstress. She loved other people, and enjoyed making them happy. Marjorie greatly loved the Lord and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith. She will be greatly missed by her friends and her church.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
