Lillian Lorene Wilson, resident of Fairfield, passed away on Monday evening April 25, 2011 at the age of 85. She was born in Fisher County, Texas on October 31, 1925 to Ross Boyd and Alvie Gann Boyd. She worked for a number of years in the cafeteria in the Kermit School District. Lorene enjoyed baking, sewing, playing domino's, and serving others. She attended services in Kermit at the Northside Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church in Hamlin, and at Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield since 2006. She was proud of being married for 57 years, her children who she loved dearly, and the family reunions at the farm.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, three grandsons and three great grandsons, a son-in-law Philip Johnston, and her husband Lon Wilson Jr. in 1999. Survivors include her six children; Lillian Crawford and her husband Joe of Silsbee, TX., Ira E. Wilson and his wife Candy of Corpus Christi, TX., Ruth Johnston of Gladewater, TX., Sandra Payne and her husband Jimmy of Kermit, TX., Bobby Wilson and his wife Judi of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mary Dodd and her husband Rodney of Fairfield. Nineteen grandchildren, twentyseven great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Durwood Boyd and his wife Pricilla of Corpus Christi and a number of other family members.
Visitation will beheld on Thursday evening at griffin - Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield from 5 - 7pm. Funral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10am at the Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield with Bro. Joe Crawford and Bro. Ed Ridge officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Hamilin Cemetery in Hamlin, TX., at 1pm on Saturday afternoon.
