Norvil Coker, 89, long time resident of Corsicana passed away on October 14, 2011. He was born on August 21, 1922 in Eureka. Norvil retired from the Texas Highway Department after 38 years of service, and he was a member of the Calvary Worship Center. Norvil enjoyed his family, horses, and his dear friends at the What -a - Burger coffee group.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years Lois Faye Coker, parents, and ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons; Laurell Earl Coker and wife CeCe of San Angelo and Johnny Coker and wife Pat of Keller. Special nephew Jimmie D. Coker and wife Betty of Navarro. Three grandsons; Chris Coker and wife Brigete and Mitch Coker all of San Angelo and Stan Coker and wife Tammy of Keller. One granddaughter Alaina Coker Lindsey of Houston. Great grandchildren; Taylor, Regan and Molly Lindsey, Olivia, Avery and Willa Coker, and Cameron Coker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His dear caregivers of many years, Karen and Richard Tate.
Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 4 - 6pm at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10am in the Chapel at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home with Brother Gary Johnson of Calvary Worship Center officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton - Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Coker, Mitch Coker, Alaina Lindsey, Stan Coker, Jim Coker, and Jay Coker.
