Frances "MiMi" Townley of Corsicana passed away on Friday afternoon, October 14, 2011 in Corsicana at the age of 68. She was born in Eureka on November 16, 1942 to Earl and Dora Moreau Carpenter. "MiMi" as she was known by most people loved the sound of children playing. This was evident in the fact that she operated her own daycare in her home for 30 years, and in some cases keeping children from the same families over and over again. She loved her children, grandchildren, and spending time with her family. Spending time ment fishing, shopping, cooking meals, and selling fireworks with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband of 30 years Marvin Earl Townley in 2010 and a granddaughter Crystal Fowler. Survivors include her children: Tanya Stewart and husband James of Corsicana, Danny Townley and wife Lisa of Corsicana, Larry Townley and wife Shannon of Pasadena, and Melissa White and husband Carl of Corsicana. Ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Sisters Othera Barlow of Corsicana and Patsy Dyess of Corsicana and a brother Earl Carpenter of Richland. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6 - 8pm at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the Chapel at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home with Bro. Chad Owens of Unity Baptist Church officiating, Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. Pallbearers will be Danny Townley, Larry townley, James Stewart, Johnathan Fowler, Jeremy Rash, and Jagger Glenn.
