Faye (Wilhoit) Harper, 75, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away October 31, 2011 after battling complications following surgery to repair liver bile duct function. Born to C.W. and Carmie Wilhoit, February 15, 1936, she was the second youngest of seven to James Wilhoit, Gary Wilhoit, Geraldine Gressett, Laverne Luig, Marlene Scarbrough (deceased), and Frances Zurbriggen. Faye attended twelve grades of school in Archer City, TX, graduating valedictorian in 1954.
She was a homemaker, fabulous cook and loving caregiver to family and friends near and far. Always aware and seeking opportunities to serve, Faye never met a stranger and loved all children as if they were hers. She was a special caregiver to many dear elderly friends. Her Christian influence touched many.
Faye will be missed by husband Bob of 57 years, children: Robert Harper and wife, Pat; Gary Harper and wife, Grace; Liz Cole and husband, David, and Laura Harper. She lived to enjoy her children but thrived in the joy of her grandchildren: Trey Harper, Lea Ellen Warden and husband, Curtis; Audra Harper, Corey Harper and Jessica Harper, Andrew Cole and Caroline Cole; great grandchildren: Logan Harper, Caylea, Carmie, Cooper and Warden. She is survived by five siblings and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
How can one pen with words the blessings of having known her? She was energetic, frugal, a fix all, seamstress, gardener, counselor, mentor, referee, and always ready to console. She never missed an opportunity to feed you. While sitting at her table, more than food was received. We have been blessed beyond measure to have her in our lives.
Per her request, a short celebration memorial service will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. at North Beaton Church of Christ 2725 North Beaton St. immediately followed by a cookies and punch visitation.
Memorials may be made to Arms of Hope, 21300 Hwy 16 N., Medina, TX 78055.
