ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA - Maggie Irene Austin, 78, was granted her Angel Wings on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Maggie had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life.
She was born to the late Montford and Lillie Trent Stallard in St. Paul, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a very special grandson, Scotty Hillman; two sisters, Dorothy Hamilton and Estelle Stallard Meade McClellan; three brothers, Ernest Stallard, Macel Stallard, and Hershel Stallard. She was an active member of St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roy "June" T. Austin, Jr.; two daughters, Judy Hillman and husband, Billy of Castlewood, Virginia and Carolyn Fannon of St. Paul, Virginia; two sisters, Euva Marshall Evans of Coeburn, Virginia and Marie Meade of Abingdon, Virginia; three grandchildren, Cherie Jacobs and husband, Isaac, Kimberly Johnson and husband, Charles "BB", and Shawn Fannon and wife, Ali; three great grandchildren, Craig Jacobs, John Edward "Jack" Fannon, and Jane Alexa Fannon; two special caregivers, Diane Artrip and Nancy Collins; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Maggie Irene Austin will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Carroll Childress and Rev. Rick Taylor officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Charles Johnson, Craig Jacobs, Ronnie Meade, Gary Slemp, Billy Hillman, and Isaac Jacobs.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, VA.
