CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - James W. Osborne, 90, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Altamont Manor, Inc., in Lebanon, Virginia.
He was born in Castlewood, Virginia; son of the late Charlie and Clara Robinson Osborne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Osborne; and one son, James Eddie Osborne. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He attended Molls Creek Church in Castlewood.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda J. Davis and husband, Don of Bristol, Tennessee and Sheila Garrett and husband, Chuck of Knoxville, Tennessee; one son, Danny Osborne of Lebanon, Virginia; one sister, Margaret Meade of Lebanon, Virginia; special friend, Ruth Dale of Castlewood, Virginia; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for James W. Osborne will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Darryl Baker and Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Military Rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Virginia National Guard. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Garland Osborne, Tom Harmon, Ty Garrett, James Scott Osborne, Danny Osborne II, and David Osborne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Meade, Jim Campbell, Donald Smith, and Homer Gilbert.
