ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA - Fuller B. "James" Helbert, 67, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia.
He was born in Russell County, Virginia; son of the late Donald and Orpha Jessee Helbert. He was retired from Clinchfield Coal Company after 42 years as an electrician. His passion was gardening and his animals.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Helbert; two daughters, Connie Banner and husband, Jimmy of Castlewood, Virginia and Gail Blevins and husband, Blaine of Mooresville, North Carolina; two sons, Rick Helbert and wife, Kim of St. Paul, Virginia and Ronnie Helbert of Coeburn, Virginia; two sisters, Ellen Steffey of Abingdon, Virginia and Goldie Townes of Castlewood, Virginia; two brothers, Oakley Helbert of Rosedale, Virginia and Charlie Helbert of Castlewood, Virginia; special friend, Ikie Burke of St. Paul, Virginia; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Fuller B. "James" Helbert will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Myers Vicars officiating. Committal Services and Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 in Valley View Mausoleum, Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Kevin Hylton, Jeff Meade, Allen Meade, Richard Hubble Jr., Hunter Helbert, and Ronnie Helbert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Allen, Eric Burke, Roger Stallard, Tim Stallard and Robbie Comer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
