John Allen Keith Cooper

John Allen “Keith “Cooper, 27, of Bristol, Tennessee, died on Saturday, June 20, 2009.   He was a son of Troy Cooper and Kathy Sue Lowery Lingerfelt. He was a Dixie Construction Company foreman, lived most of his life in Piney Flats and loved fishing and working on cars. He attended Sullivan East High School and graduated from Big Creek High School in West Virginia. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Joe and Lucy Cooper; maternal grandfather, Crockett Lowery; stepfather, Chuck Robinson; and his uncle Charlie Lowery.


Survivors include his mother, Kathy Lingerfelt and her husband Kevin of Piney Flats, Tennessee; father, Troy Cooper of West Virginia; daughter, Katelynn Cooper of Piney Flats, Tennessee; sister, Sarah Cooper and Fiancé Brian Franklin of Bristol, Virginia; fiancé,  Leah Kraus and their unborn child, of Piney Flats, Tennessee; former wife, Ashley Hicks Cooper of Piney Flats, Tennessee; maternal grandmother, Shirley Snyder and her husband Johnny of Bristol, Tennessee; step-grandfather, Bill Lingerfelt and Beatrice Moffet, of Piney Flats; step-sister, Kelly Robinson of Mount Airy, North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Nikolas and Lucie Prater and Gabriella Franklin; several close aunts, uncles, cousins and special cousins Heather Woody, Jessica Darby, Joshua Darby Eric Cooper, and Ben Cooper.


The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 O’Clock Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Shepherds Fold Full Gospel Church.  The funeral service will be held at 2 O’Clock Friday, June 26, 2009, at Shepherds Fold Full Gospel Church, with Rev. Eddie Reed and Rev. Jesse Estep officiating. Interment will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Darby, Dustin Stafford, Mark Taylor, Bob Sabins, Scott Mitchell, and Russell Stafford.
