Winifred S. Paulin, 85, of Bristol, Tennessee, died Thursday, July 18, 2008 at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Eual and Georgianna Eubank Slusher and was the widow of Raymond R. Paulin. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Roanoke, moved to Bristol in 1970 and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Basinger and her fiancée Terry Gillenwater of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Susan Belitz and her husband Rickie of Maryville, Tennessee; sons, Gerald R. Paulin and his wife Phyllis of Bargersville, Indiana; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Belitz, Nicholas Belitz, Heather Basinger, Rebecca Basinger, Lisa Paulin, Travis Paulin, Erica Paulin, and Trisha Rumensky; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Paulin; sister, Sara Miller; brother, Eddie Slusher; and grandson, Shaun Paulin.
The family will receive friends from 11 o’clock until 12:45 Saturday, July 27, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church. The funeral service will follow at 1 o’clock with Rev. Timothy E. Keeney officiating. The committal service and burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Belitz, Nicholas Belitz, Ronnie Belitz, Mark Basinger, Javier Cid, and Travis Paulin.
