Houston Charles Trinkle, 95, of Bristol, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at his residence. He was born on Friday, May 9, 1913, to the late Jacob W. and Mary Medley Trinkle. He received his Master of Education Degree from East Tennessee State University and was a retired school teacher and principal of the Sullivan County School System. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. He was also a member of Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a member of the choir for several years. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Bill, Raymond, Robert, Carl, and Worley Trinkle; sisters, Alma Wilson and Laura Cassell.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McClellan Trinkle and his son, Mark Houston Trinkle as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 Friday afternoon, March 13, 2009, at Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church in Bristol, Tennessee. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Steve Brown officiating. The committal service and interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
