Douglas Wallace, 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Wellmont Hospice House. He was born on Wednesday, September 23, 1936 in War, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Jason Wallace; mother, Irene Tackett; brother, Buddy Wallace; and sister, Ocie Cook.
He is survived by his Guardian Angel, Mary Ann Rapp; one son, Timothy Paul Rapp and his wife, Judy; daughters, Sissiy Garza and her husband, Benny, Bridgett Garza, Osa Conway and her husband, Tony, Sr.; two granddaughters; five grandsons; one great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons. Several siblings in various states.
His family would like to thank everyone who came to visit him throughout his last days to show their love and kindness along with the kind staff of Wellmont Hospice House and caring Dr. Dixon. They would like to extend a special thank you to his sister, Anita Atking of Charleston, West Virginia who took time from her work and family to give their daddy, her brother, the kind of love and attention he needed throughout these heartbreaking times.
