James Morris Brown, age 81, of Blevins Creek passed away on Monday August 22, 2011 at Life Care Center in Banner Elk.
A native of Avery County, he was born June 16, 1930 a son of the late Roby and Bertha Lee Brown.
He was a member of Blevins Creek Baptist Church and was the oldest member of Yellow Mtn. Enterprises.
James enjoyed singing in church, drawing, art, clocks, watches and radios.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ira Brown, Joe Brown, Noah Brown; sisters, Dorothy Moser, Dora Holtsclaw.
James has left to cherish his memory a host of nieces and nephews and his special extended family of Yellow Mountain Enterprises.
Funeral services for James Morris Brown will be conducted on Saturday, August 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Sheppard and Rev. Collis Sheppard officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be Sunday, August 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Lee Cemetery #1 on Blevins Creek.
