Gary Lee Crumley, age 67, of Roan Mountain, TN passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was born September 28, 1944 in Cranberry, a son of the late Dana and Delia Shepherd Crumley.
Gary was a member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church in Roan Mountain and an honorary member of Lander's Chapel UMC, Lincolnton, NC.
He loved to fish and watch Nascar races, old westerns and wrestling.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by: his infant sister, Julia Emmerette Crumley, sister, Terris L. Crumley Wooten and husband Howard E. Wooten; brother, Augustus Ray Crumley.
Gary has left to cherish his memory: his sister, Nell Diane Crumley Cunningham of Groton, Connecticut; his nephews and nieces, whom he will be dearly missed by, Timothy E. Wooten and Kelly Gamble of Charlotte, NC; Robin Elizabeth Johnson Lambert and Billie of Hickory, NC, Rachel L. Wooten Hunter and Danny of Mooresville, NC, Karen S. Wooten Klein and Henry of Raleigh, NC; great nephew, Zachary James Setzer; great nieces, Olivia Anne Klein, Rachel Erin Setzer, Chastity Lambert Eckard; great great nieces, Kaila Elizabeth and Meghan Abbigail Faye Eckard; special friends, Linda and Bud Hastings, Ida May and Frank; his loved church families and everyone else whose heart was melted by his smile.
Funeral services for Gary Lee Crumley will be conducted on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. John McCoury officiating. Interment will follow in the Elk Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church in Roan Mountain.
