William Alfred Warden, Sr., age 93, of Bluff City passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Franklin Woods Hospital. He was born in Stanaford, WV to the late Raymond Adley and Mary Loraine Crickmer Warden. Mr. Warden owned Wardens Food Shop. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David W. Warden and a sister, Mildred Bailey. Survivors include his wife Marian Diggs Warden of the home; two sons, Bill Warden, Jr. and Steve Warden both of Bluff City; two brothers, Eugene Warden of Bluff City and Jimmie Warden of Bristol; one sister, Margaret Diggs of Bristol; six grandchildren, Missy Byrd, John Warden, Wendi Johnson, Kristy Altizer, David Warden and Kyle Warden and five great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mr. Warden will be conducted at 7:00 P. M., Friday, May 13, 2011 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with Mr. Wade Lockner officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 P. M. prior to the service in the chapel ofTetrick Funeral Home. The graveside service and interment will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 14th at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Dan Gray officiating. Active pallbearers will be John Warden, David Warden, Kyle Warden, Brian Byrd, Mark Johnson and Alan Altizer. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Carrier, Ed Carrier, Doug Fields, Rab Harmon, Jimmy Jones, Ray Lady, Lawrence Perry and John Weaver. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M., Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
