Harry Lyle Smith, 81, of Bluff City went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Harry Lee Smith and Ella Alma Hicks Smith.
Lyle was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee and lived all of his life in Bluff City. He worked for the Sullivan County Highway Department and retired in 1995.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Reba Baldwin Smith; one son, Kenneth Antonio (Tony) Smith and wife Angie; three wonderful grandchildren that he loved dearly, Kloe, Kolton and Kyndall; three step grandchildren, Allen, Teresa and Carmela; two sisters, Mona Landers and husband Bruce and Lodema Brown. Lyle had a very special nephew whom he loved dearly, Bobby Brown. Several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 10, 2011 at Tetrick Funeral Home – Bluff City Chapel with Rev. Tony Deel officiating. Music will be provided by Amy Stout and Lisa Deel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Saturday, June 9, 2012 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City. The committal service and interment will follow the service, on Sunday, in the Morning View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Leonard, Rick Guthrie, Mark Cagle, Don Ramey, Allen Newman, Chris McCroskey and Howard Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from the Sullivan County Highway Department.
