Lesta Lee Stuckey Burrow, 88, Johnson City and formerly of Malvern, Arkansas, died on Friday, June 27, 2008, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Lesta Lee was born on May 30, 1920 in Prattsville, Arkansas. She was the third youngest of eight children.
Mrs. Burrow is remembered as a loving, caring, dedicated homemaker who had tremendous pride in her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with them and especially her seven great grandchildren. She was strong in her faith and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Malvern, Arkansas. Her family was the love of her life.
She is survived by a son, Troy E. Burrow & wife, Dianne, Johnson City; two sisters, Ila Jordan, Prattsville, AR, and Noma Holiman, Malvern, AR; two grandchildren, Dana Clark & husband, Steven, Ft. Campbell, KY, and Travis Burrow & wife, Amanda, Johnson City; seven great-grandchildren, Graycen, Callaway, Kieran, Cohen, and Lucah Clark, and Kamden and Layton Burrow; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, the late Henderson and Mattie Matthews Stuckey; her husband, Armis Emmett Burrow in October 1994; an infant son; two sisters, Ethel Beck & Elma Mooney; and three brothers, Clacil, Clyde, & Ottis Stuckey.
A Celebration of Life service for Lesta Lee Burrow will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Regency Funeral Home, Malvern, Arkansas, with a Committal service following in Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery, Poyen, Arkansas. Rev. Don Goodman and Rev. John Owens will be officiating. Her family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Regency Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bernard Bowdle, Wayne Holiman, Roger Holiman, Jason Bowdle, Eugene Womble, and Terry Jordan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Dean Mooney, Bob Mooney, Kenneth Stuckey, Dwight Stuckey and Dearl Jordan.
Mrs. Burrow will lie in state at Tetrick Funeral Services on Sunday from 12:00-2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials for Mrs. Burrow be made in honor of Layton Burrow to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Gifts should be sent to:
