Cecil Jackson Bailey, age 80, of Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. He was a lifelong native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Charlie L. and Ethel Norris Bailey. Cecil was a veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, with the U. S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He worked in sales for the former A. R. Brown Co. for 25 years and later retired from Nuclear Fuel Services following 17 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a grandson; Ryan Bogart, son-in-law; Gregg Bogart, four brothers; Elmer, C.L. Jr., Richard and Harry Bailey and three sisters; Pearl Ledford, Ruth Fain and Willie Clouse.

The family will received friends at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Graveside service for Mr. Bailey will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors. Rev. David Crutchfield will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers are Frank Bailey, Harley Bailey, Harold Bailey, Charles Fain, Richard Fain, Toby Fain, Wayne Ledford, Joe Frazier, Walter Davis and Harrison Gilley.
