Charles Wesley CW Calloway, 73, of the Three Mile Community passed away Friday May 11, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Calloway and daughter, Lisa Calloway.
CW was a friend to everyone. He loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren who were the love of his life. He enjoyed going to Cherokee camping, which at times was his ?2nd home?. He also loved his church family. He was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church where he had served as the Sunday school teacher for the senior class. CW retired as an assistant superintendent from Coates America, formerly American Thread, in Woodlawn after 44 years.
Survivors include his wife Louise Wise Calloway of the home; his mother Madge Dean Calloway of Plumtree; son, Wesley Calloway and wife Sherry of Three Mile; sister, Pat French Woody and husband Max of Marion; brother, Dean Calloway and wife Betty Ann of Newland; grandchildren, Brandy, Brittnay and Dustin Calloway and Britney, Jamie and Jesse Graves; a very special father and mother in law, Lloyd and Lena Wise and brothers and sisters in law, Bill and June Willis and Carolyn Wise and husband David (deceased); 9 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 7:00 pm in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Bro. Jim Greene and Rev. Phillip McCall will be officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will be 11:00 am Monday in the Pisgah Cemetery.
