Johnny Fender, age 77, of English Road in Spruce Pine passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care in Burnsville.
Born on January 24, 1933 in Yancey County, he was the son of the late Arlin and Connie Phillips Fender. He was preceded in death by a brother; Ray Fender; a sister; Wilma Wilson; and a step-son; Vance Hudgins. He was retired from The Feldspar Corporation of Spruce Pine.
The funeral service for Mr. Johnny Fender will be conducted on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 7:00p.m. in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services and interment will be in the Wyatt Cemetery on Lotties Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
Mr. Johnny Fender is survived by his wife; Margaret Fender of the home; a son; Dennis Fender of Old Fort; a daughter; Ann Wyatt of Micaville; step-sons; Butler Hudgins of Green Mountain and David Hudgins of Burnsville; a step-daughter; Norma Shepherd of Burnsville; a brother; Wayne Fender of Burnsville; a sister; Cathleen Shuford of Burnsville; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
