Makenzie Elizabeth Cook, age 14, of Halltown Road in Spruce Pine, died Friday, October 15, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on February 11, 1996, in Avery County, she was the daughter of Farold and Angela Cook.
Mackenzie was an honor student at Mitchell High School. She was a member of the freshman class and a class officer. She was a member of the Junior Varsity cheerleading squad.
Makenzie was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and served as the pianist. She loved music and animals. She was loved by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her and she loved everyone that she met.
Funeral services for Makenzie Cook will be conducted on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Matt Wilson and Darwin Cook officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at the Mitchell High School Gym. Interment will be in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery on Bent Road.
She is survived by her parents; Farold and Angela Cook of Spruce Pine, a brother; Levi Cook of Spruce Pine; and her paternal grandmother; Melba Cook of Spruce Pine.
