Norman "Bud" Kinzler, age 86 of Belgrade, died Saturday, May 7, 2010 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 13th at the Union United Presbyterian Church in Brooten. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Methodist Cemetery in Belgrade. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten.
Norman "Bud" Henry Kinzler the son of Fred Henry and Anna (Thorbjornson) Kinzler was born on December 7, 1924 in New Rockford, North Dakota. He grew up on a farm in Brantford, North Dakota. Bud attended school in Rosehill Township, Eddie County, North Dakota, and graduated in Bordulac, North Dakota. After graduation, Bud entered and honorably served in the United States Navy.
In 1946, Bud moved to a farm near Brooten, Minnesota where he farmed. In his later years Bud drove truck for Richardson Trucking. He continued to live on his farm until he moved to the Marion Manor, the assisted living home in Sunburg, Minnesota until 2009 when he entered the Belgrade Nursing Home. He passed away, May 7, 2010 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota.
Bud enjoyed his animals, especially his dogs and loved to drive around the country side. He always thought of the kids in his life at holiday time with lots of candy. Bud will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who always had a smile on his face.
Bud is survived by his brother, Chester (Marjoire) Kinzler of Brooten, MN; nieces and nephew, Barb, Kathy, Heidi and Ricky and their families, and many nieces and nephews in Spokane, Washington.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister and her husband, Myrtle (Albert) Greger.
