Scott A. Hauge, "MacGyver", age 47 of Sedan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at his home in Sedan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 27th at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood with Earl Hauge officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chippewa Falls Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Scott Allan Hauge, son of Howard "Dick" and Sylvia (Vold) Hauge, was born on December 20, 1964, in Glenwood, Minnesota. He attended and was baptized at Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church in Terrace, Minnesota. When he was young his family moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. While living in Brooklyn Park, Scott attended Osseo High School along with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where he was confirmed.
Scott was an over-the-road truck driver for over twenty years. Ten years ago Scott moved to Sedan and started working for Blackjack Trucking Company, where he recently received/earned the million mile accident free award.
Scott was known for being able to fix anything, and for this ability his friends gave him the nickname "MacGyver". He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses, dogs and when he was younger, racing motorcycles. He especially enjoyed people. Wherever he went he was able to make friends and genuinely loved people, including his family, and especially his three nephews. Scott will be remembered for his generous spirit. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sedan on December 20, 2011, his 47th birthday.
Scott is survived by his parents, Howard "Dick" and Sylvia Hauge of Glenwood, MN; brothers, Brian (Rosanne) Hauge of Elk River, MN and Todd (Julie) Hauge of Big Lake, MN; nephews, Matt, Joseph and Chad Hauge; other relatives and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Viola Vold and Arnold and Ella Hauge.
