Karen Weisgram, age 61, formerly of Villard, Minnesota, died Saturday July 22, 2006 at the Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Memorial service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday July 26, 2006 at Church of The Sacred Heart in Glenwood, Minnesota with Fr. Thomas Becker officiating. Interment will be in Lake Amelia Cemetery near Villard. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.
Karen Helen Weisgram, the daughter of Edward and Helen (Motis) Weisgram, was born in Alexandria, Minnesota at the Douglas County Hospital May 23, 1945. She graduated from Villard High School in 1963 and earned her Licensed Pratical Nursing Degree from Alexandria Technical College. She worked as a nurse in the Twin Cities and then moved to Modesto, California where she was a surgical nurse for over twentyfive years. In 1992 she moved back to the Twin Cities to care for her parents and become the primary caretaker for her mother after her father Edward passed away. She continued as a triage nurse at the Park Nicollet Clinic until May 2006. She enjoyed gardening, playing with her cat, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her brothers, Dennis and wife Oreta of Prior Lake, MN, Larry and wife Mary of Minnetonka, MN; sister, Theresa and husband Shad Reickmann of Bemidji, MN; four nieces, Michelle Weisgram, Nicole (Paul) Manecke, Valerie Reichmann, Kristin (Jon) Bruley; one nephew, Mark Weisgram; grand-nephew, Braedon Manecke; an Aunt, Mary Brosh of Glenwood, MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen; sister-in-law, Marilyn Weisgram.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
