GLENWOOD - Lee Sorset, age 85, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, at the Lakeview Good Samaritan Center in Glenwood.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday August 27, 2006, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Horsager officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Michael Blanchette, Bob Breseman, Robyn Fischer, Ron Kleven, Greg Knutson, Keith LaCoe, and Craig Olson, and Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Lee's nieces and nephews.
Lee Sorset, the son of Knut and Helga (Olson) Sorset, was born at home in Glenwood, Minnesota, on June 27, 1921. He attended school in Glenwood and has been a life long resident. Lee worked for the Dovel Furniture Store as a young man and later as a janitor at the courthouse until his retirement.
Lee was an avid sports fan even though he was never able to participate in any sports. He was also a past Grand Marshall of the Waterama pageant which was the highlight of the year for him. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and took an active role in the youth projects.
Lee is survived by one sister, Nola Blanchette of Marshall, Minnesota, as we well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ella Olson; Lillian Mattson; Myrtle Michalovich, Doris Knutson and Betty LaCoe; brothers, Harry and Johnny.
