Bruce Allen Sherlin, son of Marie and the late Arville Sherlin, was born August 16, 1944 in Glenwood, Minnesota. He lived all his life in the Glenwood area, attending Sacred Heart Church where he was baptized, confirmed, and received first communion. Bruce graduated from Glenwood High School and went on to work at E.W. Wiley cutting and shipping ice for the Soo Line Railroad. He later worked for Ace Hardware in Glenwood, and then the Department of Natural Resources as a general repair worker at the Glenwood Fish Hatchery for 27 years. He also worked part-time as a deputy for the Pope County Sheriff's Department in Lowry, Minnesota.
On April 26, 1980, Bruce married Donna Wood and they made their permanent home in Glenwood. Bruce and Donna celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past April, along with Donna's daughter (Bruce's step-daughter), Melissa.
Bruce's hobbies included tinkering, automobile, small engine, and outboard motor repair. He also enjoyed gardening and playing bingo with his many bingo buddies.
He is survived by his wife Donna of Glenwood, step-daughter Melissa (James) McConnell and their daughter, Rhiannon McConnell, all of Sartell, MN; his mother, Marie Sherlin of Glenwood; his sisters, Arlene Barsness of Maple Grove, Susan Haverhals of Laramie, WY, Gretchen Sherlin (Mike Harkins) of Boise, ID, and his sister-in-law, Linda (Cary) Brostad of Minneapolis. Other survivors include cherished friends, Oscar and Betty Barsness of Glenwood and Don and Sue Bartz of Farwell.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Arville Sherlin, in 1998.
