Minneapolis - Sylvia Lorraine Morse, age 68, formerly of the Villard area, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Redeemer Residence in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at NOON on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood with Pastor Greg Odell officiating. Interment will be in Lake Amelia Cemetery in Villard. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Sylvia Morse was born on December 7, 1938 to Jacob and Maude (White) Morse in Glenwood, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in the Glenwood and Villard, Minnesota, area. Sylvia enjoyed crossword puzzles, baking, arts and crafts, gardening and her cockatoo, Mikie. She will be remembered as a self-sufficient, determined woman who never slowed down and whose door was always open to everyone. Her funeral will take place on the birthday of her late son, Gregory Pantze.
Sylvia is survived by her companion of 15 years, Charles Alexander of Northeast Minneapolis, MN; her children, Robert (Mary) Fabel of St. Paul, MN, Nancy (Timothy) German of Elgin, Ill, Michael Pantze of Columbia Heights, MN, Laurie VanPelt of St. Joseph, MN and John (Christine) Pantze of Bowlus, MN; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (Leonard) Lannes and Betty (Richard) Peterson, both of Alexandria, MN; brother, Norman Morse of Texas; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Pantze; daughter, Melissa Harty; daughter-in-law, Rochelle "Rocky" Jackman; 4 sisters; 5 brothers; and her lifelong friend, Winnie.
