Duane Anthony Kern was born on July 9, 1956, one of six children to Bernard and Marian (Uselman) Kern in Wadena, MN.
The last several years Duane worked in mechanical maintenance in the Perham area. In his free time he found enjoyment in the outdoors - hunting, fishing and snorkeling, with a passion for skydiving. Duane also had a talent for writing poetry. He was a lifetime member of the North America Hunting Club.
Duane passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55, on April 25, 2012, at his home in Perham. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Marian; and a brother Thomas.
He is survived by his sisters Virginia (Vern) Wiederich, Vivian (Gary) Brahmer, Patricia Warner, and Theresa (Mel) Allen; 4 nieces & 6 nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
The Liturgy of the Word & Funeral Rite was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on May 3, 2012 at the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel in Wadena, with Deacon Jerry Snyder as celebrant. Inurnment was in Calvary Cemetery in Wadena.
