Funeral services for Louis B. Goche will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Verndale, MN, a Schuller Family Funeral Home, with Father Arlie Sowada presiding. Louis passed away on June 13, 2012 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, MN, at the age of 97 years.
Louis was born on January 2, 1915 to Nicholas and Katherine (Tix) Goche in Wing River Township, in Wadena County, MN.
Louis and Hattie Nata Regina Stuewer were married on June 26, 1936 in Blue Grass. As a young man Louis enjoyed hunting small game and deer. His family had a cabin on Blueberry Lake for over 30 years where they spent many hours fishing. He operated a sawmill for 15 years. In the early 1950s Louis went to North Dakota where he worked in housing construction. He returned to the family farm and went to work for Bob Weiher Construction in the Verndale area, then worked on and off for other outfits. After retirement he did various construction and odd jobs along with garage painting. In later years he enjoyed watching television, listening to the radio and going for rides.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife Hattie on April 30, 2003; daughter Joyce, and two infant daughters Janette and Sylvia; four brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his son Jerome of Verndale; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jerome Bounds, Ray Murdock, Louis Murdock, Jim Finck, Keith Milbradt, and Mike Worden. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale.
