RICHARD, Mr. Darryl "Shayne", Jr. - Age 21, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009. Family hour 11AM Saturday, November 21, 2009 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 3020 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Dr. J.S. Hopkins officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mr. Richard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2-8PM Friday. 

Mr. Darryl Shayne Richard, Jr. was born May 31, 1988 in Flint, Michigan to the proud parents of Ms. Damita Joyce (Townsend) and Darryl Shayne Richard, Sr. Darryl prepared for his future by accepting Christ as his Personal Savior early in life. He was baptized in 1994 on Easter Sunday at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir, was a Junior Deacon, attended Sunday School and played on St. Mark’s basketball team. Mr. Richard enjoyed doing Bernie Mac impressions, playing football, rapping, beating up on his little sister, praying, preaching and joking with his family and friends. He also loved to give hugs and kisses. 

Mr. Darryl Shayne Richard, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Lameka Sanders; mother, Damita Joyce Richard; 6 sisters, Joy Thompson, Roshanda Townsend, Kenyetta (Kamell) Tate, Prescious Richard , Juanita Richard and Prosche Turner; grandmother, Gerline Ferguson; great-grandmother, Cora Lee Umphryes; aunts, Terri (Willie), Yolanda (Joe), Norma Jean, Janice, Sandra, Marlyn, Kim and Lynda, all of Flint; uncles, Willie Cal, Cherry (Gwen), Mike, Gerald, Byron (Joyce), Kenneth (Kathy), Tracy, and Kevin, all of Flint, Ray (Laucy) of Pine Bluff, AR, Wayne of Tacoma, WA and Reggie of Atlanta, GA; great-aunt, Juanita Forrest; nieces and nephews, Dreshan, Ajavianna, DiQuivense’, Darrell and A’Mya; god aunts and uncles, Marjorie, Luther, Philana, Ruby, Sherry and Dwight; god-mothers, Mary Mason and Denese Herron, both of Flint; god fathers, Michael, Tommy, Larry and Darryl; god-sister, Ragan Hobson of Flint; god-brother, Ramone Hobson of New York; a host of cousins and other relatives, including special friend, Vanita Sanders. 

Mr. Richard was preceded in death by: father, Darryl Shayne Richard, Sr.; grandparents, Cleophas Ferguson, Willie and Norma Richard; great-grandfather, Robert Lee Umphryes; uncles, Joe Townsend, Maurice Richard, Robert Umphryes, Baby Lacy and Lonnie Rushin.
