HILLIARD, Mr. Larry C. "Good Morning" - Age 57, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2115 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Michael Pettigrew, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Hilliard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Friday.
Bro. Larry C. Hilliard, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Goodmorning” was born November 27, 1954 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Clayton I. and Mary A. Hilliard. He graduated from Northwestern High School, “Class of 1972” and attended Mott Community College. He worked for General Motors and was a member of UAW Local 659. Bro. Hilliard was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a member with the Laymens, he was also a transporter for the church. Bro. Hilliard also served with the Great Lakes Baptist District Laymens. “Goodmorning” was an Auto Mechanic, he loved his family and helping others.
Bro. Hilliard leaves to cherish his memory: 4 daughters, Gwendolyn (Brian) Miller, Lawanna Hilliard (Toine), Takeisha Hilliard and India (Charles) Carroll; 2 sons, Aaron Miller and Demetrius Miller, all of Flint; grandchildren, Wiley Spencer III, Dajurian Spencer, Robert Moore III, JaQuavion Smith, Tamaine Moore, Tariyah Bishop, Abd. Jihad Moton and Aareanna Miller; sister, Shirley Hilliard; brother, Howard Hilliard; 8 nieces including Marian Hilliard, Lynn McKinstry and Latoya (Shawn) Seales; nephews, Darellus (Satinka), Ruben (Michelle) Hilliard, Romello Hilliard, Davontae Jones, Shawn Taber, Craig (Liz) Howard, Rubin (Carol) Howard, Genories (Sheila) Dunbar; cousins, Alice and Earlinda Hilliard; a host of other relatives and friends including, Floyd Thames, Willis Lewis, Leon Snelson, Edgar Barnes, Donnie Tedford, Jerome Fairley and Leroy Akins.
Mr. Hilliard was preceded in death by his mother, Mary A. Hilliard; father, Clayton I. Hilliard; sisters, Edna Earline Howard and Virginia Williams; aunt, Eardie B. Rowan; and nephew, Willie Howard.
