BROADNAX, Mr. Bennie W. - Age 88, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Heritage Manor. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with celebration service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Lewis Randolph, officiating. Friends and family will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Broadnax will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Bennie W. Broadnax was born June 9, 1923 in Pickens, Mississippi, the son of Willie and Annie Broadnax. He was a resident of Flint, Michigan since 1942. Bennie was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from General Motors Corporation. Bennie loved listening to and watching Baseball.
He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Marshall Broadnax of Flint; grandchildren, Ms. Angela White of O-Fallon, MO, Mechalley Broadnax of Houston, TX, Kendra Broadnax, Antoine (Audrey) Broadnax, Keith Broadnax and Kansas Broadnax, all of Flint; 9 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Broadnax was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Broadnax; son, David Broadnax; parents, Willie and Annie Broadnax; sister, Ruby L. Broadnax; brothers, Jerimiah Jones and Henry Clay Broadnax; and special friend, Ms. Marilyn Gibbs.
