RICHARDSON, Mr. Carlyle, Jr. - Age 55, passed away Monday June 25, 2012 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Kevin Dixson, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Richardson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Carlyle Richardson, Jr. “Pete” was born April 1, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Carlyle and Lois Richardson, Sr. “Pete” attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Southwestern High School, where he played football and ran track. After graduation, he attended Western University, where he also participated in track. He holds track records in team relays at both schools. Learning the Construction trade from his father, who owned his own company, “Unity Construction”, where “Pete” worked alongside his father. “Pete was a loving and caring towards his family and friends. He had a special father and son bond, one of unconditional love and commitment, which he also extended to his grandson, C.J.
He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Carlos Richardson; grandson, Carlos Richardson, Jr., both of Flint; 2 sisters, Carlotta Richardson of Flint and Pat Scott of Canton, MI; niece, Carla (Torian) Billings of Canton, MI; 2 nephews, Pastor Kevin (Tonya) Dixon and Keith (Stacy) Dixon, all of Flint; 2 aunts, Thelma Colbert of Wichita, KS and Coleen (Mayo) Brooks of Tulsa, OK; cousins, Edwin (Sally) Southern and family of Wichita, KS, Mason Brooks and family of Tulsa, OK; many great nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece; a host of relatives from Michigan, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee including his extended family, Mary Turner and the Carter family and special friends, Carl Word, Bobby Thompson and former wife and Carlos mom, Kim Richardson.
Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, Carlyle Richardson, Sr. and Lois Richardson.
