JACOB, Mr. Alfred - Age 59, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Calvin Randolph, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Jacob will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Alfred Jacob was born December 15, 1952 in Marksville, Louisiana, the son of Clordy and Clara Jacob. He was a True Believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Alfred was a resident of Grand Blanc, MI (formally of Lancaster, TX). He attended Baker College and retired from Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors. Alfred served as Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army where he served a tour of duty in Iraq, and retired with an Honorable Discharge after 20 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and watch movies. Alfred was a sacrificial father, devoted husband, brother and loyal friend.
Mr. Alfred Jacob leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Brenda Jacob; daughter, Melissa (Fred) Baldwin, all of Grand Blanc, MI; son, Nathanael “Newt” (Marie) Jacob of New Port Richey, FL; 4 step-children, Verell (Nichole) Nelson of Lincoln, NE, Venisha (David) Jones, Jeremy (Nicole) Nelson and Joy (Jerry) Givens, all of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Clarissa and Cassandra Baldwin both of Grand Blanc, MI, Savannah and Dominick Jacob, both of New Port Richey, FL; 3 sisters, Anita Holley of Marksville, LA, Christine Gilbert and Florence Jacob, both of Flint; 4 brothers, Gilbert Jacob, Sr. of Flint, Earl “Duney” (Dawn) Jacob of Marksville, LA, Gaston “Suman” (Tangie) Jacob and Clordy Jacob, Jr., all of Flint; 3 sisters-in-law, Sharon (Elbert) Hicks, Phyllis Carter and Beverly (Jefferey) Kee; brother-in-law, Claude Carter; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Calvin Randolph.
Mr. Jacob was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Jacob; father, Clordy Jacob, Sr.; brother-in-law, Irby Gilbert; niece, Irbinetta Gilbert; sister-in-law, Jeanette Jacob; and mother-in-law, Zenobia Carter.
