DAVIS, Mrs. Ruth - Age 72, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Briarwood Manor. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Davis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed form 1-8 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Ruth Harris Davis was born September 10, 1939 in Dothan, Alabama, the youngest daughter of Will and Ella (Pelt) Wesley, Sr. She was a former member of Second Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Ruth was an employed at Fisher Body, a division of General Motors, retiring in 1982 and a member of UAW Local 589. She was also a Cosmetologist, this she enjoyed after her retirement. Ruth loved playing cards, traveling, watching movies and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.
Mrs. Ruth Harris Davis leaves in God’s Care: husband, James “Fluzzy” Davis; son, Frederick A. (Chisandra) Lambert, all of Flint; 2 step-daughters, Danica of Flint and Monique Lewis of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Christina Williams of Flint; 2 sisters, Marie Pearson and Margaret Simon of Houston, TX; brother, James (JoAnn) Wesley of Dothan, AL; 2 brothers-in-law, Charlie Davis of Flint and John (Lizzie) Davis of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends including, Annie Nash and Jan Brisby.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Ella Wesley, Sr.; sister, Sarah English; 2 brothers, Will Wesley, Jr. and Herbert Wesley.
The family would like to express special thanks to Briarwood Health Care Center, especially to “Nurse Q”, nurse aid, Lorraine and activity-aid, Cindy Reid, the nurses at McLaren-Flint, Dr. Abduul Razzack, Dr. Paul Musson, Pastor Charles Osborn, the Fairhaven Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Eternal Life Ministries Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
