Kenneth Daniel " Mack" McClendon

MCCLENDON, Mr. Kenneth Daniel "Mack" - Age 57, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at his residence. Family hour 12Noon Monday June 1, 2009 at Faith Church and Christian Ministries, 255 S. Squirrel Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00PM. Pastor Andrea Ellis, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12Noon Monday. Mr. McClendon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8pm Sunday.


Mr. Kenneth Daniel "Mack" McClendon was born December 12, 1951 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Ernest and Louise McClendon. Kenneth accepted Christ at an early age. He was a resident of Auburn Hills, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University. He had been employed with Chrysler LLC for fifteen years. Kenneth served his country proudly in the United States Army, and was an honorably discharged veteran. His pride and joy was coaching and being president of the Pontiac Panthers for twenty-two years. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Jamaica. Mr. McClendon’s hobbies were golfing, bowling, coaching various women softball teams, as well as playing on various softball teams, where he was known for being a fast runner. Kenneth loved his children and enjoyed spending time with his family.



 Mr. McClendon leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Chauntea Renee McClendon; two sons, Kenneth Deon McClendon, Kevin DuJuan McClendon; granddaughter, Sonaa Marie Andrea Jones (His Pooter); two sisters, Gwendolyn (Baini) Taylor, Martha (Robert) Terrell; four brothers, Earnest McClendon, Gabriel McClendon, Caleb (Melanie) McClendon, Solomon McClendon; nine nieces; eight nephews; one aunt; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends including special friends, Pontiac Panthers Staff and Organization, Chrysler Co-Workers, Golf Partners, Robert Tucker, Tony Murphy, Kevin Davis, Coach Chuck Leonard, Coach Curtis Nash, Mary (Louis) Lassister, Robert (Connie) Black and Gerald Smith.


 Mr. McClendon was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest (Louise) McClendon.
