Wilma “Winnie” Mumford, 89, of Casey, IL passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born on August 19, 1922, in Bellair, IL, the daughter of William Barker and Voe T. Trigg Barker. On January 18, 1942, she married Denver Mumford in St. Charles, MO.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years, Denver “Denny” Mumford of Casey, IL; son, Dennis Mumford and wife Nancy of Casey, IL; grandsons, Jason Bryce Mumford of Sarasota, FL; Ryan Lee Mumford and wife Sarah of St. Charles, MO; Jeremy Thomas Mumford and wife Amanda of Casey, IL; great grandchildren, Cole, Owen, Kaitlyn, Elijah, Daisy and Jack Mumford. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Connie Jean Mumford and brother, Loren Barker.
Winnie was a homemaker and worked at the KZ Coffee Shop for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Casey, IL. She belonged to the Casey Fitness Club, where she and her friends were known as the “Swim Buddies” for their exercise swim class.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
