Jerid Scott Sturman-Camyn was born May 11, 1987 in Spokane, WA to Koni Sturman Buell and Scott Camyn. He died November 24, 2007. Jerid attended Tracyton Elementary and Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale.
Jerid excelled in football and wrestling during his high school years - earning numerous athletic honors and was also a scholar athlete. He was on the East-West All State football team after his senior year. Jerid also took 2nd at the 2005 State Wrestling tournament, wrestling at 189 lbs. Currently Jerid was attending Eastern Washington University and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Jerid spent many hours hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather as well as teaching his 5 siblings how to fish.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather Koni and Darcy Buell and father and stepmother Scott and Debbie Camyn. Jerid has 5 younger siblings Micah (9) and Tristan (7) Buell, Cassie Medlen (18), Courtney (10) and Madison (6) Camyn. Also surviving Jerid are his grandparents Larry and Alice Sturman, Jerry and Kathy Camyn, and Carol and Gale Van Hollebeke, and his great-grandmother Elva Sturman along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Klahowya Secondary School, PO Box 8, Silverdale, WA 98383 in the name of Jerid's Athletic Fund to offer financial assistance to student athletes.
A visitation has been planned for Friday, November 30th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. The memorial service is Saturday, December 1st at 1:00 pm at Crosby Chapel in Seabeck.
