Lyle J. “Nick” Hart went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2008. Faithful Christian, loving husband, father and “Pop.”
Services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Smith officiating.
Burial will be on Tuesday, November 25 at 9:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with Pastor Nick Hart officiating.
Nick was born on December 3, 1947. He was a graduate of Texas State University and served proudly with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt, spending time with family and friends, but his heart was first with our Lord.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, Col. Harlow D. Hart.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Darleen Hart of Tyler; his mother, Jean Hart of Duncanville; brother, Harlow D. Hart, Jr. of Washington State; beloved children, Nick Hart II and wife Shanna of New Braunfels and daughter, Michele Hart of Tyler; four beautiful grandchildren, Blake, Blaine, Bailee Grace and Samuel Hart; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Amy Byrom of Smithville, Kerry and Renee Byrom of Seguin; nephew, Clay Byrom; nieces, Katy Rothe and husband, Kevin, Julie Byrom and Lauren Byrom; and many wonderful family members and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Bobby King, Tony Causey, Matt Stelter, Rick Martindale, J.C. Hendrix, and Dr. Mike Rowan, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, Texas 75703.
