Services for Faye Russell, 92 of Corinth, and former longtime resident of Tyler, will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Luna officiating.
Burial will follow in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery in Tyler under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Russell passed away, Friday, June 12, in Corinth.
She was born February 23, 1917 in Van Zandt County, Texas to Pete and Willie Stallings Cook.
Mrs. Russell was an ultimate lady. She loved her family and was a talented homemaker who enjoyed needle point, cooking, gardening and traveling, especially to Estes Park Colorado. Mrs. Russell’s family were pioneers of the Dixie Community. Her family owned the property where the Tyler Pounds Airport is today. She was a former secretary at Robert E. Lee High school and a longtime member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband A.L. Russell, and brother Norman L. Cook.
Faye is survived by her loving family including daughters, Sylvia Wilson and husband Larry of Tyler and Anita Russell Mills and husband Chuck of Corinth; grandchildren, Paul Wilson and wife Lisa of Austin, Julie Pharr and husband Roger of Tyler, Stacy Schroeder and husband Cody of Corinth, Jason Mills and wife Shannan of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Allison, Caitlin, Molly, Conor, Jake, Sarah, Cole, Reagan, Claire and Abigail; sister Doris Russell of Edmond, OK (formerly of Tyler); nieces, Judy Chandler and husband Sam of Edmond, OK, Carol deLamadrid of Houston, and Michelle Bright; nephews James Chandler and wife Shirley and David Cook; and her “Angels” at Autumn Oaks.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at Stewart Family Funeral Home 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, Texas 75703.
