Services for Shannon Kay Kisamore Whitsell Means, 30, of Flint, will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Olive, Rev. Mike Cline and Rev. Tom Pesnell officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Shannon passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, in Tyler.
She was born September 30, 1979 in Tyler, to Carl and Cynthia Hinkle Kisamore.
Shannon was a member of Dayspring Methodist Church. Shannon received her BSN from the University of Texas, Tyler. She worked as an E.R. nurse at local hospitals, at Scott and White Hospital and Clinic in Temple as well as Baylor Hospital in Dallas. She was also previously a nursing instructor at TJC.
Shannon coached the Bullets youth soccer team for over 5 seasons and she was a member of the Tyler Junior League.
Shannon’s children were her life. She was vibrant and full of life in everything she did. She was a devoted mother and wife. Her children attended the BrookHill Lower School where she played a very active roll as a BrookHill Mom. Shannon was a servant and never passed up an opportunity to help those in need.
Shannon was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Merle Hinkle, and Eugene B. Kisamore.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband Brandon Means; parents, Carl and Cindy Kisamore; children, Colton W. Whitsell, Corbin J. Whitsell, Carleigh F. Whitsell, Nicholas Means and Brenna Claire Means; sister, Shawn Hancock and husband Brandon; brothers, Chad Kisamore and wife Audra, and Chet Kisamore and wife Jenifer; grandmothers, Alma Hinkle and Sue Kisamore; nieces, Caelyn Kisamore, Madison Kisamore and London Means; and nephews, Casen Kisamore, Alexander Kisamore and Gabe Means; best friend Kelly Dalrymple; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Carl Kisamore, Chad Kisamore, Chet Kisamore, Brandon Hancock, Brandon Kisamore, and Michael Kesler. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Whitsell, and Corbin Whitsell.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Tyler, Texas, 75703.
