A memorial service for Charles Thomas Lee, 78, of Tyler will be held on September 11th at 9:30 a.m. at the Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Dittmore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler
Mr. Lee passed away on September 9, 2010.
He was born on September 16, 1931 in Lindale, Texas to the late Guy and Lucille Lee. He was raised and went to school in Lindale before graduating from Tyler Junior College. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force and later graduated from Baylor University, where he earned a B.A. degree. On July 1, 1955 he married Mary Ann Butler of Tyler, Texas. He and Mary Ann spent 55 wonderful years together and traveled extensively. Mr. Lee retired from TXU in 1992 as Eastern Region Manager after 37 years of service. Throughout his career he was actively involved in civic and community affairs. He was strong in his faith and an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Lee was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and “Gamps” to his granddaughters. His love and commitment to his family was evident by his supportive presence and active participation in their lives. Anyone who knew Mr. Lee knew his greatest joys were his family, friends and doing for others. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy of love and caring for family and friends.
He is survived by a loving family including his wife, Mary Ann Lee; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Ann and Doug Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Thomas “Tommy” and Jamie Lee; and granddaughters, Lauren Anderson, Lindsey Lee, Dannie Smith, Taylor Anderson and Brooke Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Smith, Joe McClain, Thomas Utz, Larry Hickman, Bob Ashcraft, Jim Rice, Jim Gill, Dub Suggs, Wayne Tiller, and Gaylon Daughtry.
Visitation is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. prior to the memorial service at 9:30 a.m. on September 11, 2010 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
