Services for Daphna Catherine “MaMaw” Callahan, 92, of Tyler will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Callahan passed away on April 5, 2011 in Tyler.
She was born September 26, 1918 in Farmersville. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Tyler since moving to Tyler in 1959. Mrs. Callahan was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and nourished children throughout her life.
Mrs. Callahan was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Frank Andrews; mother, Lillie Carrie Andrews; husband, John W. Callahan; son, Frankie Callahan; and sister, Maurine Durham. She is survived by a loving family including her daughter, Judy and husband, Bob Brown; granddaughters, Sarah Gingrich, Cari Wilson and husband, David, and Joy Lynn Craft; grandsons, Robert Brown and wife, Veronica, and Tim Callahan; great grandchildren, Christopher Craft, Lacey Brown, Noah and Stevie Gingrich, Brayden Brown, Tristen and Landen Claiborne, David and Steven Reyes and Espi Brown; brother-in-law, Clifton Callahan and wife, Doris; sister-in-law, Ruby Geren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Will Renfroe, Aaron Owens, Blake Rambin, Robert Brown, Ty Stephens, and Tim Callahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Christian and David Busby.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
