A memorial service for Ruth Elise Conway, 86, of Tyler will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler with Rev. Gavin Vaverek, J.C.L. officiating.
Mrs. Conway passed away on September 22, 2011 in Tyler.
She was born on December 8, 1924 in Dallas to the late Royal W. and Marie Welch Congleton. Mrs. Conway was a lifelong Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Quinlan, where she actively volunteered. She worked for the Quinlan Independent School District, from where she retired. She also retired from Montgomery Ward where she worked as head of the payroll department. Mrs. Conway loved going to the lake and fishing. Her greatest joy was in the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conway was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Conway and her brother, Jamie Congleton. She is survived by a loving family including two daughters, Suzanne “Cookie” Young of Tyler and Kathleen Capehart of Red Oak; a son, Bill Conway and wife Nora of Mill Valley, California; seven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
