Services for Margaret Ann Crank, 74, of Tyler, will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Paul Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crank passed away on October 31, 2011 in Tyler.
Shewas born May 6, 1937 in Jenkins, Kentucky to Lilburn and Wanda Boggs Heaberlin. Margaret grew up in Norton, Virginia and graduated from Norton High School in 1955. She was both a cheerleader and a basketball player for four years, serving as captain for both.
Margaret met the love her life, Hansel Crank, while visiting her brother in Shreveport and they were married on September 13, 1958. Mr. and Mrs. Crank have been residents of Tyler since 1968.
Margaret was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church and a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class. She loved playing Mahjong, watching sports and had a passion for watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Margaret was a member of the Petroleum Wives Club and the Women’s Forum.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Heaberlin Milam; and her brother, C.M. Heaberlin.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband of 53 years, Hansel Crank; two sons, Steven Crank and wife Susan of Whitehouse and Kevin Crank and wife Linda of Sachse; grandchildren, Zachary Crispin, Callie Crispin, Ashley Crank, and Jennifer Crank, all of Whitehouse, and Michael Crank of Sachse; brother and sister-in-law, Vance and Alice Heaberlin of Dublin, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Werner, Milton Wilson, R.K. Wilson, Don Hadden, Gary Murray and Tom Arrington.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Open Door Sunday School Class at Green Acres Baptist Church.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., in Tyler.
