Harris - Glenn A. Harris passed away on August 2, 2009. He was known as Al and was born on December 24, 1928 to the late Rev. William and Pauline Harris in Premier, West Virginia. Al was a veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a Coal Miner in West Virginia for 11 years. He moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked for Flowers Bakery where he retired after 25 years. After retirement he and his wife, Betty, moved to Macclenny, FL. Al attended First Baptist Church of Macclenny for many years, loved the Lord and enjoyed the fellowship of his brothers and sisters in Christ. Al loved life in Macclenny and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. Most of all, Al loved his family, especially his wife Betty whom he was married to for 30 years.
Al is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Jeannie Stewart (Eddie), daughter Joyce Ray and son Tim Harris (Debbie). His grandchildren, Missy Kennedy (West), Mindy MacDonald (Shaun), Jamie Stewart and Courtney Harris. His great-grandchildren Aiden, John Parker, Peyton and another sweet little one on the way. Al had 1 sister, Zuma Truitt, 5 brothers, Paul, Harry (deceased), Jay, Bill and Larry. Al is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday August 7, 2009 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. and Funeral Services on Saturday August 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Macclenny 372 S. 6th
St. Macclenny, FL 32063 with Pastor Edsel Bone officiating. Private graveside services.
