Russell – Kenneth “Ken” Russell, age 79, passed away on December 31, 2009 at his residence with family by his side. Mr. Ken was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 12, 1930 to the late John Thomas Russell and Eunice Stark Russell. He was a very good husband, father, and grandfather. He grew up in Lincoln Park where he belonged to the Lincoln Park Band playing the trombone. He was a very talented man. Mr. Ken restored old cars, did woodworking, and invented things to make his tasks easier. He made crosses out of some old church pews he had acquired and gave them to people he met along the way. He was a Navy veteran, a Mason, and a Shriner. He retired in 1983 as a Lieutenant on the Southgate, Michigan Police force. He moved to Macclenny, FL in 2004 where he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuyler.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Delores Russell of Macclenny, FL; his sister, Hazel and her deceased husband Arthur Rosner of Jacksonville, FL; his four children, Marilyn Russell and Judy (Harry) Ervin both of Baldwin, FL, Brian Russell of Callahan, FL, and Tammy Russell of Lincoln Park, Michigan; his 11 grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Rest in peace, we know that God was waiting for you with open arms. You will be missed dearly.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 3:00pm at Ferreira Funeral Services with Pastor Billy Worthington officiating. Arrangements are currently being made for a Memorial Service in Michigan.
